Stairway To Guitar Playing Heaven
Around 95-98% of beginners fail in their quest to learn guitar.
This video may give you some clues why that is, and, hopefully, give you some inspiration to stick to the tired and true.
Forget learning from tabs. It won't happen. You may have a bit of fun, but you'll also do yourself a lot of harm in the process.
You see, 99% of tab is wrong. Why? Well, simply because most of it's written by beginners who don't have much idea themselves. So their tabs are full of mistakes and wrong fingerings.
The best way is to follow and tried-and-tested method that quickly builds your skills one on top of the other. You'll progress much faster and won't have any knowledge gaps and you won't develop those bad habits that will stop you like a brick wall!
You can still have some fun with tabs on the side, but you'll be better prepared to sift the gold from the dross.
Take advantage of modern DVD technology to get yourself a high-quality guitar education.
These days with modern DVD technology there's no reason why anyone can't get a high-quality education at a very affordable price.
There are hundreds of learn guitar sites to choose from on the net. But most are too specialized or are just downright rubbish.
As a beginner you need one that covers all the essential basics so you can build a solid set of foundation skills. Once you have these skills you can quickly take yourself to any level of guitar you desire.
After a lot of research I have discovered the best learn guitar system is available as a DVD course.
This is good news because your teacher is always there for you. Not just once a week, but every day 24/7.

John, I purchased volume one and I figure just the part on picking correctly has saved me an measureless amount of time, who knows how long I would have continued to have attacked the strings at an improper angle (flat!).
Here is an example to make my point. Obviously as soon as you showed me the technique the tremolo picking appeared but the reason it hit home so strongly was I had been trying to get this one particular lick down off and on for about a year and I barely even sniffed it. As soon as you said lift your wrist up a little and attack with a little of the edges I did that lick! The lick is the muted tremelo picking in that Commander Cody song Hot Rod Lincoln, it's a fun lick, do you know it.
Anyways thanks John!
P.S. It also immediately improved my strumming. Thanks for making it more fun.
Sincerely,
Bradley
Good stuff Bradley. It's often the simple things that make the most improvements.
Stay loose, brother.
