4: Play Guitar With Your Head – Muscle Memory
The first thing to know is that your head controls all movement of your hands.
In other words, your head (brain) issues instructions to the nerves in your hands to make your muscles move.
The exciting thing about such a simple observation is that YOU control the 'quality' of input into your brain. And that means the output (end result) can also be controlled by YOU.
G.I.G.O. Garbage In = Garbage Out
It's like programming a computer – if you input garbage then you get garbage out.
And when it comes to playing guitar, the same applies … if you program bad habits, poor technique, mistakes etc into your brain, then your playing will reflect that and will be nothing like what you want it to be – great sounding, relaxed and effortless, just like a pro.
