Here's some guitar theory PDF downloads you will find helpful:

Guitar Theory eBooks

Right-click your mouse on these files and choose "Save Link As…" or "Save Target As…" to save to your computer. I suggest you make a folder on your desktop called 'Tortoise Guitar' and download them there. To do that, just right-click your mouse on your desktop and choose New/Folder.

  • Beginner Guitar Theory – this guitar theory ebook explains what learning guitar is really all about. In it you'll learn the secret to taking control over the way you learn guitar to achieve the results you want faster than ever before.
  • Guitar Chord Secrets – this ebook is the basis of all the "music" theory of scales and chords that you need. Understanding how chords and scales are made is extremely valuable information to know… as you will see with the upcoming videos.
  • Guitar Notes on Fretboard – these are the natural notes on the fretboard. No sharps or flats. The equivalent of the C Major scale and the A (Natural or Aeolian) minor scale.
  • Blank Neck & Chord Grids – print these out to create your own scale, arpeggio and chord diagrams.

There will be more to come. Just don't want to overwhelm you at this stage. :-)

i hope i could have been living in a free country so that i could use your great updates and everything you offer! but since i am in a country with savage government i can't use any credit cards to use your options,so i just enjoy your free stuffs! but about your web site i gotta say it is moving!

Yea it's cool man I really dig FD just wish I could go on a little faster sometimes but it's all great. I wish we had more backing tracks they're really a help with you're ear and a lot of fun! Great site though keep up the good work man!

Hello,

Really nice lessons! But there's nothing in it about the minor key. Is it possible to make a lesson about that too?

Lander, the thing is, the major scale is also the minor scale. The 6th note of the major scale is the relative minor. So in the key of C major, the scale is also the A minor natural scale.
