Guitar Lessons DVD
Guitar Lessons DVD – DVD's can be a great way to learn guitar in the comfort of your own home without having to pay for a teacher and travel expenses. They also offer flexibility as to the time of day you do your lessons.
You also have the benefit of being able to watch a particular guitar dvd lesson in closeup over and over as many times as you want. Whereas with a teacher you only get to see them once a week.
So a guitar lessons dvd can:
- save teacher expense – use money saved to buy a better guitar or amp
- save travel time and expense – use time for more practice
- provide flexible lesson/practice times
- you can consult a dvd lesson and watch it many times over in closeup – gets faster results
However, without a teacher to keep tabs you may need to exercise more discipline to ensure you keep making good progress.
Best Guitar Lessons DVD?
There are many guitar lessons dvd's on the internet these days. Many are produced by independent guitar teachers and are very good. However, more and more are appearing that are absolute crap! Obviously produced by amateurs with little, if any, teaching experience. But more keen on making money from the internet.
So you need to be careful that what you spend your money on offers good value. And make sure it provides comprehensive and relevant training. Some courses are too specialized and/or lack a lot of important detail.
As a guitar teacher of many years I take a keen interest in seeing what's new on the internet with guitar lesson dvd's.
For the beginner, I have yet to see anything that matches or compares to Learn and Master Guitar. Produced by Legacy Learning Systems and perhaps the most popular learn to play guitar dvd series ever available on the internet.
If you are a beginner, I strongly suggest you check out Learn and Master Guitar. It is the 'Rolls Royce' of guitar instructional dvd's and is very affordable at just $149.00 + shipping.
Blues Guitar Lessons DVD
If you have been playing a while and like the blues, then check out "Blues Guitar Unleashed" by Griff Hamlin. Not for beginners but if you know your basic bar chords and a pentatonic scale, then this is a great course for getting down to the nitty-gritty of playing blues. You need to sign up for some free blues guitar videos to get access, but they are worth it.
Or, check out his Beginner Blues Guitar videos here.
