At first I was downloading all the free stuff I could get off of Tortoise Guitar that I could find.

I came across a video called How to use Pentatonic Scales 1 3 & 4 dated March 9 2007. This video dialed in for me the fact that the scales I had been pounding away at for two years had chords in them .

JB has a way of teaching that really clicks for me. Some folks can teach and some can not. Why the teacher I had for two years at $20.00 per sitting once a week did not show me what this video showed me I will never know. I signed up for Fretboard Domination and I am now Learning at warp speed and saving a lot of money. Thanks JB. Keep up the GREAT work!! Guy

At first I felt a little skeptical about the whole issue I ve been trying to play jazz guitar God I dont know for how long. until I came across FD by JB. And to tell you the truth I havent been able to keep up with the lessons as I should be because lack of time but the few lessons that I have studied and Practiced has open a New world for me and I can see and feel the difference in my playing and improvisational skills. I intend to update my lessons and keep on because I know it will get me where I want to be next year. Thanks again JB

I came across JB's website over a year ago when I first started learning the guitar. I found Fretboard Domination and signed up for that but then realised that, to make the best of it, I should also download his free Ebook, "Guitar Chord Secrets", because the two work together.

Up until this point music, for me, had been a drunken Spider crawling out of the ink pot and staggering across the page! I just didn't understand all the dots and lines and all the rest of the stuff that goes to make up written "music"! The beauty of JB's course is that he explains it in simple terms and I found that he de-mystified learning the guitar, and the "music" that goes with it!

After a year I now have most of the videos for FD and have downloaded the Ebook so, when you put the two together, you have a complete instructional course for learning the guitar. The other big advantage of FD is that you can learn in your own time – miss a few days practice, it doesn't matter! You work at your own speed and can keep going over the lessons, and the videos, until you have it etched on the back of your skull!!

I must have looked at dozens of online websites until I found John's course and then, I realised, that combining the Ebook with the FD course gives you absolutely everything you need! Now I work through it at my own speed and the biggest advantage that I have found is that John doesn't set any kind of time limits on what you learn. You can keep going back to it time and time again until you really have it under your belt! As he has often said – better to learn like the Tortoise rather than the Hare – slowly but surely does it!!

For me, as I have said, it de-mystified music, and I now have a far greater appreciation of what I am doing but, more importantly, I UNDERSTAND what I am doing!! What better endorsement can you have than that??!!

I've been following JB for about three years on the internet because I like his teaching style. His simplification of music theory is whats so important to me. John's vast knowledge of music is evident in how well he's able to share in-depth instruction in regards to things like chord construction, scales, modes of scales and chord progressions on the guitar. I personally can't just play a chord; I have to know how that chord was born, where it came from, what scales and notes work well together; JB teaches it and puts it perspective for me. So, that just scratches the surface of why I'm a big JB fan and will probably always belong to FB Domination and take his lessons.

Thanks,

I can't slip anything by JB, he catches everything!! Having been a musician for going on 35 years and wanting to better understand chord theory and music theory in general I happened upon Fretboard Domination. The thing that really turned my crank was finally understanding the MASTER SCALE. This is what puts it all together, all the chords you need are there plus any particular scale that you need is there. This is what connected all the dots for me. It made me understand why I was playing the things I play, in the order I play them and why my fingers (and brain) go where they do. Thanks JB for making things easy to understand and helping me become a much better player than I would have been on my own!!
Greg
