FD Month 12 (49-52)
Hi . Here's your download page for Month 12: Lessons 49-52.
The huge task of re-branding and encoding all the lesson videos and pdf's for FD and transferring them here, to Tortoise Guitar, is now complete. Phew…
I'll just finish off these last 3 lessons and then start working on some extras: like how to learn songs by ear using Transcribe!, blues licks in the style of "?", and making more backing tracks and videos outlining application of the concepts in FD.
Lesson 49: Guide Tones
Guide tones are just two notes of a chord… the 3rd and 7th. These two tones define the character/function of a chord. Often, you can just play guide tones – especially when play with keyboard players and you want to create a more open sound. Guide tones are also a good way to target notes for soloing purposes as you move through a chord progression.
Lesson 50: Advanced Chords – Dorian Chords
These are chord forms useful for chord melody or just general use. They are 3 or 4 note chord shapes on the top 4 strings. You can play chord melodies or just use them to add extra spice to your sound.
