FD Month 01 (5-8)

Hi . Here's your download page for Module 1 lessons. Each week a new lesson will appear for download below.

In this module, we look at understanding chords by the number (2 lessons). You will also learn a new strumming pattern that is very popular and a really good toe-tapper. Then we'll finish off with some basic chord tips and tricks.

Lesson 5: The importance of the 5 and 1 chords

Learning chords by numbers (in relation to their place in the scale) makes understanding chords and how they function a whole lot easier. This lesson looks at the two most powerful/important chords in a key… the V and I chords.

Lesson 6: The I-IV-V Chords – the 3 most powerful chords in music.

In this lesson, we add the IV chord to the mix. The I, IV and V chords are the basis for many hundreds of thousands of songs. In fact, you can make a career out of playing just these 3 chords… so it pays big dividends to get really intimate with them and know them in all keys.

Lesson 7: 'the Chop' – a real foot-stomping party rhythm you just have to learn

This is a very common rhythm pattern used for heaps of songs. A really good 'foot-tapping' strum for playing along at parties, too. Spend some time perfecting this at slow and very fast tempos.

Lesson 8: Basic chord tips & tricks add variety and spice to your playing

This just shows some tips and tricks that are used with your basic open chords.

Questions?

Remember, if you have any questions regarding these 4 lessons, ask them on the Module 1 Questions page.
